I started to paint in 1993 as a hobby. Most of my experience came
from workshops and art classes which I attended from different art teachers such as: Cathrine van Schalkwyk (Mbombela), Estelle Hartley (Whiteriver), Deon van Rensburg / Deo Donne (Roodepoort), Nic Oosthuizen (Amersfoort) Mike Parsons (Lephalale).
I received an ATKV award at a Show in Secunda on the 27th of May 1999, being overall 2nd from 323 enrollments . The ATKV represents the African Cultural Committee in South Africa. The market painting was done in oil medium and portray a scene at a market in Tibet. With this same painting I also received a 1st place for the most outstanding enrollment on
the 4th July 1997. This was given by the Komatipoort Show Agency.
I have already been involved in different art exhibitions with other artists and sold several paintings. Although art is at this stage only a hobby, I would like to pursue in it to eventually become a fulltime artist.
