Art by Lesley Carrutherswww.ArtPal.com/lc1
Having recently returned to painting after two decades of working as a sculptor, Lesley Carruthers finds herself hugely inspired and fulfilled working with the colours and vibrancy of paint. Her work is primarily abstract, and minimalist, and is not pre-planned or thought out in advance. Instead, she lets the colours lead the way, encouraging them to form a balanced and harmonious composition. She works with acrylic ink, on canvas and wood, and with alcohol inks, on paper or on plexiglass.
"The great beauty of working with abstract forms is that they prompt memories, thoughts, or reactions in the observer, meaning that everyone takes away something unique to them."
