Few things in life give me greater joy, than to blend vibrant colors on canvas. My first artistic inspiration, was my grandmother, Roberta May. She was an amateur artist that inspired many in our family to try our hand at painting. I grew up admiring her work, and as I got older, found inspiration in other artists, like Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas, and Rockwell. While I've always dabbled in creating art, I began experimenting with acrylic paint and discovering my own techniques for painting. I fluctuate between realism and impressionism, choosing nature as my favorite subject to paint.
I have taught science in the public schools of Texas for over 30 years, and raised 4 children. Time for painting was limited. As I approach retirement age, I would like to experience a new career as an artist. I have placed my artistic passions on the back burner for long enough. I hope you enjoy my work.
