Kris McElroy is a 35-year old biracial black, queer artist, writer, human services professional, and advocate living independently with multiple disabilities in Maryland. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Human Services.
The arts have been a source of coping, healing, self-discovery, empowerment, and liberation for Kris across his life. Specifically, as a mixed black transgender man with differing abilities and trauma survivor, engaging in the creative expressions has allowed Kris to communicate about himself and his experiences in a way he wouldn’t be able to otherwise.
He passionately serves and connects through the arts and advocacy work seeking to promote change through addressing the root causes and issues related to topics around disabilities, race, identity, mental illness, poverty, trauma & healing, social justice, health & wellness, and issues of intersectionality.
