Krister "KriB" Björklund born and raised in Viskafors, a small industrial community 15 km south of Borås (Sweden). Since 2005 living in Sundsvall and working as a personal caretaker.
I started painting during a period when I was on long-term sick leave, I suffered from Panic Disorder and Fatigue Syndrome.
The acrylic began and showed me the way to the landmark. I tried many ways to handle it and during that time also my self-confidence started and with that also the curiosity and the desire to develop the painting grew. It was a time of development that gave me many experiences and opportunities. My curiosity also led me from cloth to glass. It was a quiet and interesting time to develop.
After many years of acrylic it was time to get to know all the oil paint's properties. Developing in oil is not just fun, it's a lifelong development ...
Today I am open in my creation. I experiment and test different techniques. Right now I am reconciling acrylic and oil or vice versa…
I am self-taught and I learn a lot from watching art and other artists. What is common to my paintings is that I work a lot with colors, light and darkness. Nature is my biggest source of inspiration.
For me it is important that the painting makes me feel good, I am happy to paint.
With my work, I want to leave an impression on the viewer, awaken a thought or a feeling.
