I have always felt the human form as being the greatest art form. I have seen many sculptures of human form but not once have I seen in these scuptures the detail and texture of the skin.
I have been very fortunate to apply bodypaint to many beautiful females over the years and won awards in this area but unfortunatly the art is only temporary and disappears with soap and water. The only record of such works that take many hours to apply therefore are only photographs and most times fail to show the fine and delicate brushwork that goes into a piece.
The purpose for creating these lifecasts was firstly to capture the absoulute beauty of the female form on a 3 dimensional canvas. Secondly applying paint to this particular shape opens up a whole new avenue of possibilities to reflect our ever changing environment and culture.
It took many failed attempts to get a perfect cast of my female model but perseverance finally paid off. I came up with a process that duplicates the tiniest detail of the skin texture and by applying the paint in very thin layers the detail is not lost in the least. The textures and close detail of the skin are very evident in every lifecast that I make. Even the goosebumps and skin pores are evident. By using the urethane paints that I have been using for over the last 25 years to create outstanding custom motorcycle paint themes , I believe an exciting kind of art form has emerged. The use of transparent layers and other methods bring out the beauty of an already......perfect canvas.
