Randy Draper has been painting for over 30 years. The last ten years he has worked mostly in acrylics, but worked with oils for many years. He taught many painting classes using a "wet on wet" technique with oils during his college years helping him through college and on to a career as a mechanical engineer. He continued painting in his leisure time. He recently retired from engineering and decided to take up painting more passionately. It was at this time that he began using acrylic as his medium of choice. He has often said that acrylics allow him the opportunity to incorporate techniques used in oils with effects of water colors.
In the last couple of years he has painted more than 60 paintings. Many of which have been sold at a local gallery and from his studio. He mostly paints landscape, seascapes and wildlife, but has done still life's as well. He does commission work locally and can work from from a client's photos bringing their favorite memories to the canvas.
