Khyber Hashimi

Khyber Hashimi was born in 1986 in Afghanistan in a war-torn country where still you can hear the screams, where every morning starts with deathly explosions, where everyone is seeking peace and harmony…. he lived there until He migrated to Islamabad, Pakistan in 1991. His passion for art begun at an early age, while observing the famous artist of Afghanistan Mr. Seddiq Zhakfar, whose style is unique and always admired, he begun to join his art class In Islamabad, Pakistan, there Khyber participated in many art prizes which encouraged him to continue this pathway. After returning to his homeland Afghanistan on 2002, Khyber got admission in Faculty of Fine Arts of Kabul University on 2004 and successfully completed his Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) degree. Afterwards he started his master’s degree in Visual Arts on 2014 in same university but due to very weak security situations, he migrated to Ontario, Canada in same year.

Khyber worked with many national and international organizations such as:
2009 - 2015 Culture Unit, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Kabul Office
2008 Center for Contemporary Arts Afghanistan (CCAA)

Khyber is an active contemporary fine artist in painting, drawing, sketching. He experiments with his many different techniques skills, and utilizes various materials to achieve the desired effects. He enjoys working with ink, oil, water-colors but oils tend to be his most preferred medium and loves to balance unique colors, movements, energy, textures in his artworks. His arts usually exhibits the social problems of people in the society, as well as he paints the landscapes, what he always dreams of.
