I love painting, drawing and have been doing that since I was little. Ever since I saw my mother's drawings in the front of books she gave me. Most of all, I like painting people, especially their faces because they say so much about a person. I also have a great interest in history and very much enjoy bringing to life people's family members that lived a long time ago - hence my black and white photo of a British family taken in their back yard in 1926. A quick photo taken because a friend had just bought a camera - a young man stares out from a window watching the proceedings while having his hair cut - https://artbykerinfreeman.weebly.com/old-photos-to-oils.html
I would like to paint more - capturing history from old black & white photos.
I have won a few awards - one for a British skinhead in a tunnel, another for VE Day competition - my painting is kept in the mayor's office. I have sold many others too and given talks to various art groups.
I have studied sociology and human development and have worked in various fields with young people who have had behavioural issues and loved it, hence my interest in learning about a person before I paint them.
So please, if you are looking for an artist who enjoys bringing to life people from a bygone era or is wanting a portrait done of a family member please contact me : firstname.lastname@example.org.
