Description

Even though Nina Simone was covering the song 'Strange Fruit ' (originally sung by Billie Holiday) I felt more compelled to create this piece with her as the subject because Nina visually, was the embodiment of the bkack race to ME! Incorporating the images from 'infamous' lynchings into her wardrobe was me acknowledging the weight she placed on her shoulders.
