K Bass Art

I am a Studio Art and Exercise Science major at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I grew up in beautiful central Idaho and started painting at a very early age. I showed my art in the central Idaho region as a member of the Salmon River Art Guild. I have completed commissioned works for individuals as well as Pacific University. I am now preparing work for my senior show at Pacific.

As an artist, I enjoy exploring the elements of light and contrast. My paintings encompass two major themes, nature and anatomy, reflecting my passion for the outdoors and the human body. My inspiration for working with sunsets, silhouettes, and other captivating light scenes comes from spending time in the outdoors.

Working with combined media (including airbrush, acrylic, and ink) is important to my work, as it allows me to create contrast between environment and subject. An airbrush’s ability to attain and blend bright, vibrant colors suits my work and even helps to guide the content. Vibrant color is abundantly prevalent in my work, as nature furnishes many beautiful colors to work with.
