I am of German/American descent, my mother grew up in the oldest city of Germany, Trier and my father comes from a little place in Ohio called Fremont. We've moved around a lot during my childhood and adolescence, which has certainly had a huge impact on myself and consequently, my art. Because of this, and to the great despair of my partner who was born and grew up in Surrey/UK, I am a very restless person and don't like staying in any one place for too long. In short, I've never experienced 'Heimweh' (homesickness), but am in a constant state of 'Fernweh' (wanderlust). However, thanks to the fact that I mutter whilst I paint and have, at times, vivid conversations with myself, he'll always have that eery notion that he has settled, at least in one way. There are some things however, that I fear change of. This fear is a very profound and at times physically painful one and it is what I most commonly explore and deal with, through my paintings. Life and death, memory, mental illness, love, decay etc. I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings.
