Teacher of Art & Design in secondary schools and colleges from 1993 to present day
I have always had an interest in painting and drawing, I took an O and an A level then a General Art & design diploma at Leek school of art and then took a degree in Fine Art & sculpture at Manchester Polytechnic which I completed in 1987. I worked in industry for several years outside of Art except for a brief job as a gallery security guard in the Haywood Art Gallery in London during an exhibition of Diego Rivieras work. Like most who find it impossible to make a living as a professional artist or musician I became a teacher and have taught Design & Technology for twenty five years. I am a keen amateur musician and have played in many local bands, and have just featured as a musician on Pete Mortons album released in April. I have been painting again for about three years and I have painted over 600 paintings in that time, and entered and some competitions and had my work featured in the Artist magazine a couple of times.
