Jereen Susan John, a self taught artist, belongs to a small town called Perumbavoor in Kerala,India; she was born in June 1986. In her very early development stage of childhood, her parents being doctors traced the possibility of her being born dyslexic and her interest in art, let her be herself and explore the art the way she liked and exposed to the same field in all possible way in their capacity of that time and area. With time, book became her enemy and art her friend, which led her to choose Fashion/Textile designing as her career.
In 2009 she joined for her higher studies in Stella Maris, Chennai for M.A. Fine Arts where she specialized in textile designing; her first academic exposure to art,not only made her realize the possibility and pride of being full time artist but also her differently abled capacity and comfortable level of reading the book in upside down manner. Even though she was in shock to accept the fact for the first few weeks, research let her to realize she is not alone; many respectable, famous art historians have also journeyed on the same road which let her to accept the way she is and get comfortable with the same.
Not having the heart to sell her own art works, she chose designing as a career for a few years; she just couldn't let go of her strong inner call for art, which led her to take breaks between her job shifts and participate in art exhibitions. With time, realizing her strong artistic side and her inclination to destroy her own art work because of strong artistic mood swings, she decided to start selling her art to save her works for the future.
