Obsessed with the magic of painting, as well as the illusion of reality, Jovica Petrovic strongly
opposes the life that this profession is pulling him into. Therefore, like most autodidacts,
compelled to prove his work, or to show how and in what way he masters the basic elements of
painting skills. This has led him to opt for a classic painting procedure, which basic typological
features are the closest to the poetics of hyperrealism. In this way, he can best demonstrate his
mastery in processing the matter in its pictorial representation, tactile and coloristic values,
those being the challenges to which every good painter should prove himself. The results he
