Photography started as a hobby for Jim while in the military with a second hand camera, black & white film and a photo lab on his military base. He kept the hobby after the military learning all he could about photography. Together with his wife he enjoyed travel and photographing their adventures and began selling his photos for editorial and advertising uses. Jim's photos have now appeared in magazine articles, calendars, textbooks and many other publications as well as being used in advertisements for companies large and small. Jim has also successfully sold his scenic/travel work at art shows for a number of years winning numerous awards at the shows and in photo competitions.

Jim now uses digital cameras to photograph the scenes. He then uses the computer and image editing software to create the final image.
