Art has been a consistent comfort for me. It creates space for me to breath and fully express myself in that moment. I’ve always been open to trying to create various types of art but I’m most drawn to creating abstract or interpretative artwork. I typically use alcohol inks, acrylic ink and oil paints. I love to create assemblages and mixed media collages. They can encompass just about anything, from trash or recycled items, photos, glass, beads, paper, natural elements such as sand, rocks, moss, leaves, forest debris, etc.. My creative endeavors usually entails me attempting to capture and reprocess a mood. As well as derive authentic reactions to intrinsic and extrinsic influences.
Another side to me is that I often create customized art pieces for clients. I receive requests asking me to create a mixed media collage or assemblage including the client’s personal photos or images, trinkets, and keepsakes, small object collections, fabrics, and other random items that have emotional value to the customer. They understand the process has to be completely unfettered and agree to give up creative control with how the items will be incorporated into whatever piece I’m making for them.
I’m always learning and love the process of creating, wherever it takes me.
