Although I did not grow up in a house full of artists, I have always indulged in visual arts, mainly drawing and painting all my life. I would say my autodidacticism has evidently been a blessing. And here I am, fueled with the need to create images and try to make this world a little more appealing.
My art is a journey of self-discovery and self-expression. It is the process by which I choose to explore the people, entities and world around me. I am fascinated by the subjective nature of events, how two people are able to have exactly the same encounter, yet their interpretations are radically different, placing contrasting values on them. – my source of inquiry and inspiration, into which I delve when creating.
As someone who has purchased fine art photos to hang on my own walls, I have often pondered what provokes people to purchase an artwork to hang on their walls to contemplate it each and every day for years to come. To try to answer that question helps me produce pictures and sharpen my creative vision.
Next to a selective search of subjects, I use various Photoshop techniques to generate these images; digital manipulations and modifications, because as someone once said that an artfully created fiction is often more truthful that the actual truth. I am after the poetical and lyrical truth of the subject rather than the literal truth.
