Hi, I’m Jennifer Hogan. I’m an artist; I draw and I paint. I have since childhood. But, recently I’ve added a new passion: Photography. Here’s why I’m passionate about capturing the nature around us.
What surrounds us all of the time is evidence of life and death and the struggle in- between, in all of it's beauty. Sometimes we focus on the new, young and simple things, rather than the fight for life, the intensity of desire (something that grows as we do) and other times we see the impact of life, the worn edges of wood...admiring the grain that would not exist without struggle...I see this in the woods, daily as I walk through and try to capture it. At times I appreciate it and feel almost blessed to have access and the ability to appreciate...other times I feel diminished and unimportant. The force of nature, we will never be in control of it, all we can do is bear witness and if possible, make the struggle less painful for others. My measure of success is that I inspire a level of appreciation, a moment of pause...the roses are always there, at times more brilliant, but always there.
