I grew up in a rural community west of Portland, Oregon. After I married my husband Bill (in 1988) we lived in many different states, and a couple of foreign countries, too. I have always loved the diversity & beauty of the Pacific Northwest, so I was delighted when we returned. From 2000-2006 we called a tiny town in northern Idaho "home." Currently, we live in Electric City, WA near the Grand Coulee Dam.
My interest in painting blossomed during our time in Idaho. Prior to that, it wasn't much more than doodling on the edges of my school notes! So, since I was a 'late bloomer' as an artist, I've never had any formal instruction. I was (and still am) inspired by PBS artist, Jerry Yarnell. I suppose I learned the most through his tutorials and lots of practice. I am also part of a small local art club where I've received many critiques and much encouragement in the last several years. ~Heather J. Williams
