Helen Hunter Watercolors

I am a late-blooming artist. I decided at the age of 65 that I wanted to learn to paint. Fortunately, I found someone willing to teach me and work with me. Since then, I have taken workshops with Karlyn Holman, Tom Lynch and Terry Madden and have learned different techniques from each of them.

I have entered paintings in contests in Iowa and Florida and have won blue, red and yellow ribbons and Honorable Mentions. I have been in shows with my art group, Creative Artists, and have been successful in selling original art, prints, and greeting cards. In July and August of 2018 I had a solo show at the Lowe Gallery in Marion, IA.

In addition to membership in Creative Artists, I am also a member of Iowa Artists and the Iowa Watercolor Society.

I paint every Tuesday with a group of artists. It's amazing the number of works one accumulates over the weeks and months. I'm sharing some of those with you here and hope that you enjoy my paintings.

I am a widow with grown children and 5 grandchildren .. these wonderful people live in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and New York. Many travel opportunities await me.
