GUIDO ALVAREZ
www.ArtPal.com/guidalcoGuido Álvarez, was born in Colombia, and at the age of 18 he devoted himself to touring East Asia, and then at age 24, settling in the United States. Without knowing that this experience would be the basis for the creation of his works. At 55 years old and going through a complicated family situation, and after a financial bankruptcy, he had to start from scratch. That's where he decides to go to Argentina, where he is currently based working as a Therapist in Bioenergetic Medicine.
Passionate about art, his connection is a flow of feelings and moments that do not define him as an artist (as he calls himself self-taught), it is only a moment in which he takes that role and expresses it through a canvas. It is in Argentina where he discovers a true passion for art and painting, and so far has had a short and incredible career. He believes in the power of art as a means of "healing" expression. He began by exploring the different millenary techniques of Sumi-e, Suminagashi and Enso; Adapting it to a spontaneous and intuitive type of art. From there he displays a fluency in style tinged with oriental influence. Today he is exploring and experimenting with new techniques and forms that allow him to express his inner world; that usually finds, abandoning the restrictions of figurative language and escaping from the rules imposed by visual reality. So, in their creations, chance and spontaneity acquire another dimension with a clear inspiration of the present moment, obeying the emotional demands of the Being. Guido paints pure energy with impulsive details that dissolve in a storm of movement, creating strength and dynamism in all his works; with an expressive brushstroke, filling the surface with a delicate balance of fluids, spontaneous marks and a brittle moderation combining the Asian influence with elements of expressionism.Use dark backgrounds with primary colors, adding a small amount of other tones for greater visual emphasis. When asked why do you use dark backgrounds with primary colors? Respond: "Because through the darkness of our planet we understand light, happiness ... and so, doing what we have come for, we find the way preparing us for the return home."Your inner space is the source of all creativity.Once the idea of what he wants to capture in the canvas is achieved, the manifestation emerges in the form of colors that move at great speed through the canvasGuido Álvarez creates paintings that are as emotional as aesthetic, with a dialogue between the details of realism and the freedom of the abstract. His cheerful, passionate and innovative works have made him popular among art connoisseurs and collectors very quickly.Guido uses acrylics, and a plastic card instead of a brush to create the shape and integration of colors in a captivating way, finding beauty in the familiarity of the everyday to mix realism and abstraction by expressing his emotion and interest with brands, strong colors and textures, and even contrasting. It has a very distinctive style, guided by perception and by its dedication to the artistic form. He began to create from intuition and a magical world of colors appeared before his eyes, mixing realism and abstraction.Sure that your subconscious is your color palette. Live and enjoy more fully the present when you are painting, than when you do anything else.Without a doubt, being self-taught has been an advantage for him; that's why he paints with such freedom, not adhering to the "norms and patterns" that professional training creates. The lack of education in the artistic area has not prevented him from achieving his dreams. It gave him the motivation and freedom to do things from the heart, instead of looking for a balance between training and personal expression. When Álvarez paints, it is as if he entered a wonderful world full of challenges in which the tone, the perspective, and everything else is irrelevant in front of the need to express what he feels, both on the subject and the proces
