Giorgos Stragkas

Born in 1938, in Prosotsani Drama, I was originally a member of the music family, studying higher theory and piano at Thessaloniki’s State Conservatory. But my love for the arts in general, made me interested in painting, initially as a self-taught student and after years as a painter with my own style, using natural materials (wood, metal and stone) on canvas with oil and spatula.
Some of my most important works are in the Gallery of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, in the Municipality and the Region of Central Macedonia as well as in the Municipalities of Xanthi, Drama and Prosotsani.
I live and create in the city of Thessaloniki and I am a member of the Association of Painters of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece.
