G.H. Rabbath

I explore performative and participative art through photography and writing. Till 2013 I taught Cognitive Science and Art Theory in a Beirut University. Since 2009, I'm engaged in several meta-artistic interventions and publications in the art world. In 2010, I got to be nominated as curator and commissioner of the Lebanese Pavilion for the 54th Venice Biennial 2011, and created 'institutional void' in the Arsenale as part of a neo-Situationist project. In 2013 I launched an ongoing photography project: The Better World Project using photography. In 2015 I moved to Europe, and settled in Italy and started drawing portraits of all the people I met.
In 2020 I will be launching my Ark Project: doing 30000 portraits in a year’s time as a political statement to raise awareness about socio-economic issues.
When I’m not doing portraits, I paint large scale works, and write poetic and performative essays about contemporary art.
