I have been into the arts since grade school. I picked up the stipple style, a.k.a. pointillism, while in high school. I was drawn by the challenge that comes from creating form and texture using only dots, and especially dots of a single color. Later in life I was married and in time my wife took up quilting. Eventually I started creating pixel images for her to use for quilt tops. In doing so, I found that pixels are nothing more than big square dots, and ultimately decided I still enjoyed the challenge of creating images using large dots, but I additionally liked the creative elements found in the use of color. To me pixel images are modern, yet they maintain a the look and feel of realism. Simply beautiful!
