My art tells about my passion for color and mood. I approach each canvas as an exciting journey into a magical world of color and light. Bright reds, turquoises and blues come together in a celebration of color and life!
I began painting in my early teens when I was fascinated with the impressionist painters’ use of color, small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, and open compositions. I studied art at Michigan State University where I majored in oil painting.
My paintings reflect my love of color and texture, often using a pallet knife, and sometimes squeezing the painting directly on the canvas. My composition is open and simple. I paint a solitary woman on a beach, in a boat, running in a field of flowers, or gazing at the sun through the clouds. My goal as an artist is to convey a mood. I hope to bring joy and beauty to the world around me. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have in creating them.
