Janet Margaret (Pranger) Montgomery
2/14/1926 – 9/28/2008
Janet Montgomery was an accomplished Dallas Texas Artist. She actively painted a variety of topics and styles from the 1940’s until the early-1980. She received critical acclaim for her work with the “trompe l’oeil” (fool the eye) technique from Dallas Morning News, Times Herald and local galleries. .
In her later career phase thru the 70’s and 1980’s she taught art classes as a passion to pass on her talent. Starting in the late 1980’s she retired from painting and selling her work to provide care for her loving husband of 50 + years, Mike Montgomery, until his death in October, 1994. Afterwards, she was a devoted mother and grandmother to her wonderful family until her death in September, 2008.
She exhibited over 30 years in many art galleries in and around the DFW area selling numerous paintings. Since the 1980’s there has not been any of her paintings that have surfaced for resale. The family decided to release prints from their own collections for fans from her pass, current and new fans.
