Farshid Razavi’s paintings strike a balance between the ancient and the modern world, the Middle East and North America, and tradition and modernity. With an eye for architectural details and a gift for depicting the interplay between buttery warm light and cool blue shadow, Farshid says his ultimate goal is to depict a planet that is full of beauty, even–or especially–in the everyday things, places, and activities that are so easily taken for granted in the day to day. He considers his work as a mirror that reflects his life and his world. As an artist, Farshid wants what he creates to connect and flow with the universe, and utilizes his considerable technical ability, talent, and compositional eye to that effect. A master of many different mediums, Farshid is skilled in color pencil, watercolor, oils, acrylics, and oil pastels, as evidenced by his art work.
Farshid was born in Iran, but currently lives in Canada where he works as a pharmacist. He says he’s grateful his full time job gives him the freedom to paint what he loves.
