It excites me to bring diverse elements and resources together into a new work of art. It is very similar to the decision making process that has sustained my business career for so many years. The experiences of repeatedly acting, analyzing and reacting captivate and motivate me to continue my creative endeavors.
Now, my lifelong interest in art is receiving my full attention. Workshops by Richard Yip, Christopher Schink, Carole Myers, Richard Hegen, Irving Shapiro, Henry Bell and others have enriched my independent philosophy of learning by doing. Art classes at Southeast Missouri State University from Grant Lund and George Founds provided additional development. I have a BS degree in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University.
Watercolor has been my primary medium for many years until recently. Today, a wide variety of other materials, including collage and digital work, define me as a mixed media artist.
For ten years, my wife, Mary Tangora, and I operated an artisan gallery called Wind Water and Light in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. We both continued to produce art from our individual studios during that time and we still do today.
My studio is Farmboy Artworks. Through Farmboy Artworks, many of my art images are applied to a variety of substrates including a successful line of original tee shirt designs.
We now reside in Florida.
