Kate is best known for her use of natural materials and love of the outdoors which has a great influence in her creations.
Since graduating with a Degree in Graphic Design from Brighton University, Kate has become an Art/Design and Technology Teacher. From her studio/workshop in her home, she creates one off, hand made pieces using a range of materials from beach combed objects to Polymer Clay and uses them to express her perspective on natural forms. She is inspired by the materials themselves especially their texture, colour, form and even smell which guides her to her final pieces. She draws together her own personal experience and uses these to create ideas which have an intrinsic meaning and reflect nature in her own way. Kate likes to be bold and colourful with her designs as well as experimenting with techniques of colour and adaptation.
Kate has a special passion for the South Coast and especially the Jurassic Coast of Dorset and Devon. She regularly visits the area in search of new materials and inspiration.
