My current series, "Late Bloomers" crystallized for me my artistic identity as primarily a Colorist. Color, Shape, Texture and Form are the main driving force for my art. The current series of large flower paintings, allows me to fully engage in my dialogue with color but also to highlight my long-term affinity with my garden in particular, and nature in general. My fascination with organic forms and their astounding variety provides an infinite source of creative inspiration. Past work emphasizes my use of traditional as well as alternative materials exploring 2D art with sculptural elements.
I am committed to making art which is accessible, non-intimidating, and frequently references cutural aspects traditionally identified with women. At times I use simple everyday materials which are familiar, yet presented in alternative or unusual ways, implying multiple possibilities for the creative instinct for me as well as the viewer.
