Emily Brock is a professional painter, illustrator and private art lesson’s tutor/ instructor. Emily is known for many different attributes which include: animal portraits, graphite and pencil drawings, abstract art, illustrations, as well book covers. Emily uses acrylic paints, water color paints, charcoal, ink, graphite, and sometimes collage materials to capture her perceptions. Her paintings and drawings have won numerous awards and can be found in private collections across the continent. Emily was born in Hendersonville NC, and spent most of her life in Taylorsville NC. She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2007 with a BFA in Studio Arts. She currently resides in the small town of Landrum SC. Emily has exhibited her art in NC, SC, and NYC. "I have always had the desire to draw or paint. My mom has kept a picture that I drew of myself, from elementary school. It's a self portrait of myself in a tall chair, facing an easel painting while wearing an artist's tam (those French looking round hats) Fortunately, I do not wear an artist's tam, and I am happy that I have kept painting since then."
