This was finished May 10th of 2016. This is my study of grisaille. I used an acrylic underlay to create the values in the painting and then added a protective layer then the oil for color. I did it that way so it took much less time to paint. The man was a muscle statue that I sketched out with charcoal and the background is the Tibetan light festival. I used an umber based under painting much like the traditional masters did.
