Erica Fairbank Art

I am an Auckland based artist who has worked in a number of mediums, but mostly oil paintings. Some of my paintings are inspired by the kiwi scenery, the beach, sea,mountains and iconic images of New Zealand. I love the combination of brush and palette knife.

In my work I aim to evoke thoughts of holidays and places visited, treasures collected and memories made.
Its great to express yourself in art. I always had a passion for drawing and painting but only recently been able to pick the brush up again. I am fascinated by the textures and the intense chromatic that you can explore and reinvent by working the medium of oil painting. I love to use bold colours and the rich texture of oil. Painting for me is a release of energy, and a way to disconnect from our overly connected world.
