Eda Z. Tényi was born in 1973 in Novi Bečej, then in Yugoslavia. Since then she has changed four countries without ever changing her address. So now she resides and works in Serbia.
Her whole life revolves around art. Following the footsteps of her amateur photographer and amateur actor parents, she also set out on a journey of creation and creativity. She is a high school graduate photographer and graduate of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad as an actress.
She was an actress at the Novi Sad Theater in Serbia for ten years, then transferred to the Cultural Center of Novi Bečej as the staff’s program organizer and coordinator.
In the meantime, she founded her own theater, where she plays educational, interactive theater play for children. She also wrote and published drama scripts for theater play intended for a young audience.
She started painting in 2009 at the Artists' Colony at the Cultural Center of Novi Bečej, under the guidence of her painter friend and mentor, Tibor Nagy.
She soon found her favorite motif: the origami crane and the origami swan. She tries to project her worldview and philosophy of life through the symbolism of the elegance of birds, the pureness of the swan, and the vulnerability of the origami artwork. She prefers using watercolor and acrylic techniques, as the oil painting techniques are too slow for her temperament.
So far she has had 11 solo exhibitions in Serbia and Hungary.
She is the proud owner of a special provincial prize and two first prizes.
She has participated in more than sixty group exhibitions and several art camps across Serbia, Romania, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Metohia.
Her pictures can be found in Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Methia, Romania, Turkey, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, and Italy.
She gladly offers her pictures to humanitarian auctions.
She became a member of Rotary International as she values helpfullness and the power of community.
