I am an artist from Ft. Lauderdale I started painting as a five year old child in Germany. My work has been inspired by the many places I’ve lived and the artists I’ve seen over the years as the son of military parents.
In 1979 I earned my degree in Fine Art from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. For the next 28 years I earned a living as a freelance architectural illustrator winning an award of excellence from the American Society of Architectural Illustrators in 2005.
In 2008 I began my career as a fine artist quickly winning several awards and best in shows with the Miami, Gold Coast, and Florida Watercolor Societies. I won the ArtFlorida, and Bonnet House Competition as well. I’m is known for my versatility, bright color work, attention to detail, and a photo realistic style.
In 2010 I won the Public Works Project at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport with my underwater cartoon rendition of a Florida pier. The Shuttle Buses have had my cartoon designs on them for the last 5 to 6 years.
Recently I’ve turned my attention to painting in oils and creating more with my mind’s eye. I feel my best work is still ahead of me and I hope to blog my progress going forward. Time and opportunity are the hardest obstacles to overcome. I hope to connect with others going through the same endevors and get feedback from other art lovers as well.
