Dmitry Kustanovich

Dmitry Kustanovich was born on the 29th of March in 1970 in Minsk. He lives and works in St. Petersburg. He held more than 100 exhibitions from 1995 to 2021, more of them are personal. His works are in galleries and private collections of many countries of the world. The beginning of creative activity of the artist passed in his native Minsk. Exactly here he started creating world famous series such as "City Rains", "Butterflies", "Glass", etc. The artist held personal exhibitions in Minsk, participated in statements of theatrical stsenografiya.

Also personal exhibitions were held in Portugal, Germany, Russia, France, the Netherlands. In 2006 the artist moved to St. Petersburg. The first exhibition in which the artist participated, brought him success and recognition. He was accepted by famous Petersburg gallery owners such as Mikhaylov Georgy Nikolaevich (he is the founder and the owner of Fund of the free Russian modern art), Tretyakov Vitaly Petrovich and many others. Personal exhibition of Dmitry Kustanovich in Smolny Cathedral of St. Petersburg holds annually and becomes the Petersburg tradition. The artist creates new series of pictures: "Russian", "Wood", "The Petersburg court yards", "Dreams on the Neva", "The invoice of cinema", "Etudes at a wheel", "Feast of Orthodoxy", "Alexander Nevsky Lavra", "Esthetics of globalism ", "Female images", etc.

The artist's homeland is Belarus. It always remained for him an inspiration source. Small streets of native Minsk, unique beauty of the Belarusian nature always lived in memory, touched heart of the artist and served as plots of his pictures. Working in St. Petersburg, he created and presented to the Russian viewer a new series of pictures which he called "My small homeland – Belarus". On the 29th of December in 2009 by the decision of the International coordination council of the World alliance "MIROTVORETS" (Moscow) the artist Kustanovich was awarded by the Medal "Talent and Calling" for promotion of ideas of the world.

In 01/12/2009 to Dmitry Kustanovich was given the rank of the Academician of Academy of the fine arts and design (St. Petersburg). In June, 2010 the personal gallery of painting of Dmitry Kustanovich – "Kustanovich's Gallery" was opened in St. Petersburg on B.Konyushennaya St., 11. Located in historic center of St. Petersburg, the gallery became one of the cultural centers which were visited by Petersburgers and guests of "the northern capital". The artist's master classes, musical and creative evenings are regularly held in gallery. In 2012 the director Pyotr Soldatenkov, who is the author of the movie about Vladimir Vysotsky and many other known documentary pictures, submitted the new documentary about the artist Kustanovich which is called "I love". On the 2nd of December in 2013 D.Kustanovich was awarded by the Diploma of the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga of Vladimir in Blessing for diligent works in glory of Sacred Church and in connection with the 300 anniversary of Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra of St. Petersburg.

Kustanovich is the inventor of author's technology of painting that is why he entered into the modern art as the master who was distinguished by originality, recognition, depth of the contents and high level of execution. He created the graphic language based on personal, musical perception of world around. Much attention is paid to a surface of a work of painting, the most picture plane having huge value for formation of space of the image. Character of compositions, singular solution of a surface form specific dynamics of pictures of Kustanovich.

Some kind of "single" it attracts more and more attention every year. His handwriting is recognized. He is one of the most popular modern artists. Kustanovich's pictures are got also by collectors, and simply fans, including for the purpose of financial investments. He is one of the few artists, who caused many disputes, gained independent recognition and love of the audience.
