Dimitri was born in 1980 in a Suburban neighbourhood of Tbilisi, Georgia. The Soviet Union collapsed during his childhood and grew up among its remnants. His grandfather is a theatre designer and although his mother encourages him to pursue his artistic interest, the troubled post-soviet era and its gang violence and corruption are not the right environments for him to express his creativity.
In 2004 Dimitri leaves Georgia and goes to live for one year in Germany before settling in London. The city nurtures his creativity and after a few years, he starts drawing constantly, mainly sketching people in cafes and in the street. In 2009 he exhibits for the first time at Foyle’s Jazz Cafe.
