Description

This winter scene has been painted loosely and the style is inspired by Steve Cronin who I have been following for many years now. The idea for the scene came from a photograph by Carl Ryan of Black Planet photography who has kindly given me permission to use his work in my paintings.

I live on the side of a mountain in Wales, UK and the beautiful landscape that surrounds me is often an inspiration for my work. I share my life with my partner, Lazarus Carpenter, who is an author and whose books I have had the pleasure of illustrating. I enjoy all forms of art and have worked in most mediums At the moment I am using oil based pencils which I love for their ease of transporting to use in all locations and also their vibrant colours. When I am at home, I very much enjoy paining with watercolours or sculpting using air drying clay, creating all sorts of creatures from fantasy, fiction and real life.

I am part of a small group of other artists who run a small shop in the Brecon Beacons National Park, called the Artist and Makers Emporium.

Away from art, I enjoy growing all our vegetables organically and walking with our two lively terriers.
