I drove a semi tractor/trailer for 25 years until February 2014. A leg injury took me off the road and out of work at 61 years old. My work career started early, paper routes as a kid and baby sitting. In high school I did waitress work and could live off my tips, life was simple. Than factory work and weekend jobs in a bar, to community collage, and EMT training. I worked in a nursing home and became a volunteer firefighter, life was always busy. I couldn't work full time and go to school full time, to be a nurse, so I got a job with the village where I grew up. Funny how life works sometimes. Now I worked in the street and water department, and learned about the business end of a shovel. By now I'm getting a little old for manual labor, so I decide to drive truck. All this time what I really wanted to do was oil paint. I would think about it off and on threw the years, but i guess the time wasn't right. So I picked up a brush June 19 2015, and after watching hours of youtube on oil painting, I put paint to canvas. I lost count on how many times i wiped that canvas off, just to paint again. Finally after a week. I managed to paint the 2 roses, that I have as my profile Picture. And the background, is every painting I wiped off that canvas. God helps me paint, and I pray as I paint. He is the potter, and I am the lump of clay. Maybe He will make an artist out of me yet.
