David is a digital photography collage artist from Bristol, PA
David is a lifelong artist who is on the Autism Spectrum. David loves to joke that he has “Artisim”. David’s art is influenced by factors such as Nature, Comic Books, Science Fiction, and Comedy. David attended Temple University: Tyler School of Art (BFA). He loves to take nature walks and look for turtles. He has lived all over the Bucks County and Philadelphia (Elkins Park, Center City, Levittown, and Bristol).
In Neshaminy high school David took black and white photography. Luck struck for David during his last class of college. Tyler was at the Elkins Park campus but his final class was at the Temple main campus. There he discovered the Jewish social services ”Hillel” building. He offered to paint a mural of Noah’s Ark on the front wall. To thank David they gave him a room to use for an art studio for five years. His main focus there was to paint glass bottles with acrylic paint. During this time David worked for the Mayor’s Office of Community Services teaching art to city youth. All the while he worked as a face painter for 20+ years. In 2010 while using digital photography to decorate the back of a job resume David had an epiphany. He made his first city scape titled “City of Glitter”. From there he continued to make more Alien City-Scapes and they became the main focus of his art. David explains “My art is my emotions. I am lucky to have been loved and provided for all my life. Art brings me respect and self-worth. No plan is made before getting creative. I just meditate and let it make itself (like faces in the clouds). It is like getting a gift after a work is finished”.
