www.ArtPal.com/darlenecopelandplike most people, my life has had seasons. I was an artist, a wife, a care giver, and now I am a full time working artist. I have always loved mixed media, even when mixed media wasn't cool. I have worked as a mural artist, and the past several years have done murals for large churches in the kids department. As a result my work has changed dramatically. The kids murals are bright and whimsical and cartoony. Quite a stretch for someone who doesn't like coloring in the lines. The best compliment I have had is when a kid cried because he had to leave the class, because he loved the mural. No awards can top that,
I have stopped taking myself so seriously and just began painting for the fun of it. I hope most of my work tells a story or makes the viewer laugh a bit. Life is hard, art needs to be joyous.
I hope those of you who view my paintings will enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed working on them.
