About the Artist:
Daniel Ravel fell in love with photography in 1979. Back then he enjoyed shooting Kodachrome 64 in his Nikon FM and F3 cameras. He has been an avid photographer ever since, focusing now on fine art photography.
Daniel enjoys traveling around the world, and many of his photographs suggest foreign adventure.
Ravel's images emphasize shape, texture, contrast, light and shadow - leaning toward the abstract.
His artistic style has been strongly influenced by Edward Weston, Paul Strand, André Kertész, and Ando Fuchs.
"Every image you make is a self portrait."
He currently lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
