About the Artist:
Daniel Ravel attended grammar and high school in Chicago, and later graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S. in Biology.
Daniel fell in love with photography in 1979. Back then he enjoyed shooting Kodachrome 64 in his Nikon FM and F3 cameras. He now enjoys traveling around the world, and many of his photographs suggest foreign travel.
Ravel focuses on fine art photography. His images emphasize the purity of line, shape, pattern, and contrast - giving them an abstract quality. He shoots now with a Nikon D7200.
His artistic style has been strongly influenced by László Moholy-Nagy, Edward Weston, Paul Strand, André Kertész, and Ando Fuchs.
He lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina .
Quote: "In photography it's not just what we see; it is HOW we see that's important."
