I was a late starter to painting and didn't complete my first, until I was in my mid-20's. For a variety of reasons, painting then slipped out if my life altogether during my 30's. However art in itself, was still present, even if I wasn't creating it. It wasn't until almost 20 years had passed, before I took up the brush again.

I find my self enjoying the emotions within the images that I like to create. They in some way, are often reflections of the human condition and it's surroundings. I'm attracted to the emotional impact an image has, regardless of its ugliness or beauty.

My influences are Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, Edward Hopper, Emily Carr....... Van Gough, Monet, Lautrec

I love bold colours and loose brush strokes, although I also have a high appreciation of definition.

Through the responsibilities and drudgery of life's firm grip, I've re-emerged to find that a light has still been left on for me.
