Chrystalla Tsiamparta

Having been exposed to art from a young age, I developed a deep appreciation for it, which gradually turned into love to lead me persuade my higher studies in Fine & Applied Arts. I graduated with my BFA in Painting from the University of Western Macedonia, Greece.

Each of my artworks is clad in symbolism, causing as many feelings as possible. I try to surround myself with as many as possible images and often a random one will cause an idea that is slowly growing in my head. Most of the time I let the work be influenced and shaped by emotion and memory, and I try not to control it or force it to fit into a particular subject.

The evolution of the project also leads the table to where it is intended. I usually start by finding the idea and then finding either a model or taking pictures. As soon as I have the picture ready in my mind, I like to start immediately, generally with a charcoal sketch on the canvas, and then oil on top. I work pretty fast and many of my projects end in one day, although some take months. The touches are diffused within the painting space as if they want to create an environment in which you want to be a part of it.

Intense colors, decisive forms and writing are a prime example of themy visual work.
