Hello my name is York Johnson and thank you for visiting my gallery. I am originally from Minnesota currently living in Wisconsin, USA. When I start a painting I never know how its going to turn out. I just open my mind up, let things flow, and see what happens. Playing with shapes, lines, and colors there is always something new to discover. Their interaction with one another and how they can work together and against each other is always interesting to me. I find inspiration from patterns I see in nature, man made objects, my emotions, music, movies, textiles, and by trying to have an alternate interpretation of the world around me. I like repeating shapes and patterns and how small details can all come together to form a larger image. Painting allows me to express the positive energy and love that is all around us. I hope to express emotion and feeling in my art in a way that will touch people and make them think.
