Alcohol ink art is a relatively new fluid painting technique. As the name suggests, Alcohol Ink inks consist of a large part of alcohol, mixed with color pigments, and painted on a nonporous surface.
Isopropyl Alcohol evaporates very quickly, and although the inks dry very quickly, they can be reworked by adding pure alcohol or fresh ink. The painting can be changed at a later date or another session, for example by adding new colors or more alcohol. This possibility is not available with acrylic paints or other media.
There are many techniques for distributing the ink on the work surface, for instance blowing by mouth or an electric blower. This spreads the colors and allows the artist to blend the colors and shape the painting.
