Chameleon Amour studied initially at Sarajevo's Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating, he sought a change of environment in which to continue his art education - and enrolled at the Academy of Arts and Designs in Offenbach am Main, Germany. Influenced by Western European culture, Chameleon's artwork evolved from highly-representational toward segmented, but still figurative, forms. He subsequently became a member of the German National Association of Fine Artists and showed his work in national galleries and museums.
Early in his career, the artist experimented in various media. While using oils for paintings, he also explored diverse natural materials as well as polyester and epoxy resins when working on sculptural objects. A dramatic increase in gallery shows and public exhibitions, and demand for larger-scale paintings, committed the the artist to a rigorous work ethic.
After several years, stimulated by emerging artistic challenges and interests, Chameleon needed a change - and moved to distant Australia. Settling in Sydney, the artist was impressed by its vivacious people and boldly different culture. This new place was well-suited to what he desired for his artistic articulation. Chameleon wanted more intensity in his colour palette. And sought a way to shorten production time so he could produce more paintings. Fluorescent acrylics provided the solutions. His technique and style evolved as a result, and he went on to explore new subjects and genres with it over the next decade. During this time, a very personal style and vocabulary was established - which quickly became recognized and popular.
Despite commercial success, the artist strived to push his art to a higher level. In search of broader perspectives and inspiration, he set out to travel the world for a year. Visiting the United States, he befriended a number of artists with whom Chameleon will collaborate with in the future - conceiving a project in which these, and diverse other artists, create work around a central subject but infused with their individual perspectives and artistic ideas. After leaving the U.S., Chameleon explored Asia. And sojourned awhile in alluring Thailand. This was a transitional time for the artist and he developed several thematically different collections of work in a distinct, established style. Chameleon's travels have allowed him to observe and absorb a profound variety of peoples, cultures, experiences and geographies. The artist produced little work for gallery shows during this period, but the essence of how others' think, live, work and play is a stimulus that continually informs his artwork even to the present.
Chameleon's journey continued to Slovenia, where he lived two years while producing work for several exhibitions in Eastern Europe. There, he exchanged experiences and ideas with a number of talented regional artists and continued shaping his future projects.
Chameleon Amour's thirst for new and unfamiliar culture has since taken him to a land and culture of vibrant colour: Mexico. In this playground of happiness and vivid hues, the artist finds an environment that stimulates his artwork with a fulfilling richness. Creating and showing his artwork in Mexican museums and galleries, he finds many more artists who share his vision of the collaborative project he imagined earlier in his travels. Anticipating much effort, artistic energy and love, Chameleon and his fellow artists have begun to work together on projects for the City of Malaga.
