Pencil Art by Ron Carawaywww.ArtPal.com/carawayron448
I was born (1955) in a family of five siblings, originally from Southern California, studied art with a scholarship at Otis Parsons School of Design 1980-1982. Although I consider myself self-taught, it wasn't until the early 1970's in high school that I decided to get serious in becoming an artist. Encouraged by my high school art teacher I developed my own style of drawing which I described as (pencil painting) using the eraser and pencil as if I was painting a picture with the erasers smudging pencil lead on the paper surface to create an almost photographic image. Throughout my career as an artist I've also taught myself painting in oil colors, and acrylic paints mostly in the tradition style of art. I find portraiture and painting the human figure is the most challenging, and as an artist I've always preferred the challenge.
