Elisa has been a resident of California since 2001 and, loves the beauty of the California landscapes and seascapes.
Starting in 2013, Elisa embarked in a mission to accomplish her dream of being a better Oil painter, honing her skills as a Plein Air Painter she joined PAAR (Plein Air Artists of Riverside) a group from the Riverside Art Museum. She also studied with several noted painters.
Her paintings has won numerous awards and she has developed a loyal following.
Today her paintings can be found in private collections around the country.
In October 2020, one of her paintings was selected to be the theme of the City of Ontario 2020 Christmas Card.
As Gerard de Marigny, said:
“THE SOUL OF AN ARTIST CANNOT BE MUTED INDEFINITELY; IT MUST EITHER BE EXPRESSED OR IT WILL CONSUME THE HOST”
Elisa has that feeling and, as a result, she never stops painting.
For me painting is a necessity, is like breathe, eat, exist.
My paintings are the compile of sketches from life and from my imagination, backed up by photographs and memories; are a dialogue between the observed and the remembered, the planned and the surprise that happens on the canvas. They are the starting point for the exciting process of painting which is as much about imagination and experience as, about the rendering of specific landscape locations.
I use oil paint on canvas panels trying to show a glimpse of various life realistic seascapes, landscapes and urban scenes, capturing a sense of time and place, light and space in California.
Light is the main focus of most of my paintings, but also I love to depict water as I enjoy the way in which light is reflected and the patterns create by the ripples.
Painting in a variety of subjects matters-landscapes, seascapes, urban scenes, people, nature, animals, etc.
my goal is to paint with a freshness, energy and expression.
